Healthy Snacks for People On-the-Go

Life is busy! With all you have to do to run your business or your job, manage your family or many other things you have going on.

How do you keep from eating bad snacks when you are on-the-go?

Plan ahead and carry good snacks with you. A challenge can be finding truly healthy snacks in your grocery store, since they could be chock-full of sugar or additives. Low-glycemic is the way to go!

Here’s a great a recipe for low-glycemic snack bars by Kathy Kaehler, Better Living Expert:

  • 2 cups of peanut butter (almond butter or Nutella work as well)
  • 1 1/2 cup of Agave Syrup
  • 2 cups USANA Vanilla Nutrimeal protein powder
  • 1/2 cup Fibergy
  • 1 cup rolled Oats

Take the peanut butter and agave and heat in a microwave safe bowl for one minute.

Take out and stir until completely blended. Add in the protein powder and Fibergy. Stir until blended. It will start to look like cookie dough. Add in the rolled oats. Take the dough and press into a brownie pan or cookie sheet.

Cover with wax paper and place in freezer for about one hour. Take out and slice into squares. Store the squares in a freezer safe container.
